Folks, we know, now, that They have been letting us die for no reason.  The advisors to President Trump, Dr. Fauci and others, have been lying to him and to us about  the Hydroxychloroquin treatment for Covid19.

One of the things I learned is that a nutritional supplement called Quercetin can have much the same effect as the drug, Hydroxychloroqine, but Quercetin is available over the counter.

Dr. Zelenko says that he has used Quercetin to replace Hydroxychloroqine when patients had a hard time getting prescriptions for Hydroxychloroqine due to current politics.

You should also know that the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons has filed suit against the FDA against their limiting use of hydroxichloroquine in treatment of covid 19.

As well as the fact that the Lancet medical journal has retracted it's article outlining the testing which showed that the hydroxychloroqine treatments were dangerous, because the study was not only flawed but factually untrue.

America Has Fallen

 

First, I'm thankful to God that He let me grow up and enjoy my prime years in a truly free country, where my travel, my careers and my recreations were not hindered by an overreaching government.  I was free to just enjoy my life and the world in which I lived. 

It's all over now.  The Constitution of the United States is now nothing but an interesting historical document, on display at the National Archives.  It no longer has any meaning in our government beyond historical curiosity.  Our country is now under the control of a shadowy group of rich and powerful oligarchs, interested only in Themselves and in gaining more complete control of the rest of us.

Don't for a minute think that a majority of Americans actually condone this.  Harris/Biden did NOT get a majority of the votes.  Quite the contrary.  An overwhelming majority of American citizens voted for freedom, our republic and our Constitution.  Harris/Biden will be placed as figureheads by a group of rich, powerful and anonymous controllers who stole this Presidential election; NOT by the popular vote of the American public.  Biden does not WIN the Presidency.  He was placed in that office through theft, fraud and deception.  But, with control over the media and the lower courts, Those In Control were able to make it work.

Now, we wait to see how quickly They take complete control.  Do They continue to work slowly, taking our freedoms gradually while we complain a little but; after all, just "go along to get along"?  Or, will They have their surrogate President take a much firmer hand and get things the way They want them quickly and brutally?  Only time will tell.

I think one indication of how They want to proceed will be how quickly They get rid of poor old Joe and put Harris in his place.  On one hand, Joe is certainly controllable and will do anything he's told but he also will say or do something stupid and might let us know what's in store before They want it out there.  I think Harris probably wants to be one of Them so she's going to be more cooperative and predictable.

I feel a little sorry for those who actually did vote for Biden.  There WERE a lot of real votes for Biden/Harris, partly because of the D next to their name, partly through Trump Derangement Syndrome and partly because of a true belief in what they have been told by the Democrat party.

The thing is, though, that even that minority of actual Biden voters will be under the same State Control.  Those poor deluded fools won't get a pass because they followed the Party Line.  The Police State won't be passing by their doors.  On the other hand, most of those who actually voted for the final destruction of our once great nation probably believe that the coming controls and changes are for the greater good.  Well, I believe they are about to get a bitter taste of reality; probably pretty quickly.

I mean, why wait?  It looks to me as if the slow boil is over and it's time to finish the job.  They might as well let Their true agenda be seen as voters no longer matter.  They are in control of who counts the votes and how the votes are counted so the general population no longer has a say.  

The media; news, entertainment and social, are not only under Their control but are actually

eager, willing participants in the overthrow of our republic.  Computers?  They own 'em.  What you post on ANY social media?  They can see it and control it if They want.  

You and I carry one of Their control devices wherever we go and pay handsomely for that privilege, giving Them the option of knowing exactly where we are at any given moment and even using our own expensive control device to listen to and even watch our surroundings, if we come to Their attention.

They told us there was a deadly virus in our midst that would kill most of us if we didn't Go Along.  Even with the actual facts available, a large part of our population still believes this and They are taking full advantage of this gullibility to more completely cement Their control.  They will be able to make us display our obedience, with masks today and with vaccine proof tomorrow and those who aren't obedient will quickly be removed, either through direct or passive force.  No need to come grab us in the dark of night.  Just not let us participate in normal commerce without the badges of obedience; the mask, the vaccination papers...the chip.

How we got here is pretty clear, in hindsight.   And Kruschev told us exactly how it would be done.  We laughed at him as he shook his head and started the ball rolling.

Our education system was key.  Not only to get our best and brightest youth to welcome government control...communism, but to get a strong handle on necessary career fields.  Media, Military, Legal and Political.  

In addition, getting our population more and more in debt, living beyond our means, piling up those credit cards, car and house payments.  Monopolizing and outsourcing our agriculture was also a brilliant chess move.  Very few Americans can live without a grocery store.  The skills and knowledge necessary to locally produce food, especially in the big cities, no longer exist, making us slaves to our jobs.  Then, controlling the jobs makes it easier to control the population.  Don't wear a mask?  Can't work, can't buy groceries or even have money to pay for housing.  So, what are people going to do?  They'll wear the masks and insist that everyone else wears them as well because if you aren't wearing yours, then the State will come after the business that allowed such deviant behavior.  The same kind of thing will exist for the vaccine.  If you don't have your vaccination papers or chip, then you can't get a job, can't shop in the stores, can't pay your bills, can't get medical care.

They'll get us to accept more and more such things.  People dying from the vaccine side effects?  Oh well, they're old people and we need the room, the food and the housing for the younger drones.

What is our recourse?  Obviously, the vote no longer is an issue to Them.  They will just be appointing people to fill "elected" offices from now on.  Oh, They might continue to let us vote in order to give the illusion that we have some control but, in reality, the votes will, from now on, be counted by Their vote counters and the results will be what They want.

People have talked of civil war.  Really?  Against whom?  What is your target?  Only a tiny, very selective number of people know who really is in charge now and it isn't the President, Congress or anyone like that.  Those now are political appointments, made by nameless, faceless controllers that we'll never know.

Maybe secession?  Regions with similar cultures?  Maybe, but we'll never know, from now on, if They are controlling even a regional, state or local government.

In my opinion, They won.  Accept your lot in this brave New World Order and remember: "To get along, you GO along".

As I watch the Presidential election drama play out, I'm driven to ponder where we are and where we might be going, as a country.

It's obvious to anyone who can think that this election is fraught with the evils of fraud, deception, theft and treason.  Add to that a large portion of espionage and international coercion and collaboration.  This is an outright attempt to completely take over our country.

What's worse, if we examine the past, we see that the actions of those behind Biden are just the culmination of decades of preparation.  China, Russia and others have been working on getting this done for 75 years or more. 

If Biden becomes President than elections will no longer matter.  The office in question will go to whoever Those in the Background want there.  Powerful but unelected people are calling the shots right now.  This is Their major move in taking over global control of the citizens.  We, all of us, in all countries, will be the serfs...the peasants, doing the bidding of a few powerful individuals whose faces we'll never see and whose names we'll never know.

We're almost there now.  The United States, possibly Great Britain and Israel, are the last truly free countries left and if we, the U.S., were to fall, as seems likely at this point, then all the dominoes drop and what is left is a global feudal society with most of us at the bottom.

So, what do we, as patriots, do about it?  What is our objective and how do we reach it?  Some are talking of Civil War...actually taking up arms.  I don't think those who are advocating that have actually been there.  I have not.  My military stories are all police stories.  I never had to suffer combat and now that I'm old and fat, REALLY don't want to!

But if we did, what would be our objective?  We can't just randomly destroy, as They have had Their Antifa and BLM thugs doing.  We Must have a reasonable goal and I have an idea.

We know that our Federal Government is corrupt at all levels. We know that, Democrat or Republican, they are all feeding at the same trough and have been for a long time.

I think we need to remove ALL of Congress, both the House and Senate members, and just send them home.  Replace them with the people our Founding Fathers meant to have in those seats.  People who don't even WANT the job!  Farmers, Ranchers, shop owners, cops, firemen, waitresses, truck drivers...the little guys who have always made this country work.  They all know how to make and keep a budget and they all know wrong from right and most of them live honorable lives.  Have people nominated by their neighbors and their backgrounds and history examined by the electorate.  Incidentally, disqualify anyone who is or has been a lawyer from holding public office.  Short term limits, such as two or four years and no option to run for any office again.

Fire the heads of all government agencies and replace them with people who perform those duties in the public sector and have been making a living at it.  All with no tenure and a completely merit system of continued employment.

President Trump knew this was coming but did he really know how MUCH was coming?  The array of forces against him and the power they wield?  To be honest, I despair. 

 I know our country teeters on the brink of destruction and if we fall, then Freedom, throughout the world, is gone.  In reality, people throughout the world should be preparing to come to our aid in this time as, if the U.S. fails, then no one, ever, will be free.  We will revert to a global feudal society, run by a few very powerful, nameless, faceless people.  

Elections will be meaningless if this steal is allowed to succeed.  Political offices will be handed out by those few power brokers and those holding said offices will follow directions or be replaced.  The majority of us will work in approved industries, our "earnings" taken and doled out as the powerful see fit.

This "Election" is the culmination of many long years of planning.  President Trump refused to go along as have all other leaders in the past few years and so They have done all They could to remove him.  Possibly, They didn't want to show Their hand so soon and that might be a weakness the President can exploit but, for now, this is all in the hands of our President and the few who stand with him.  I just don't know if his puny array of supporters can overcome the powers really coming against him.  I hope so, but...

They Are Almost In Control Now

The fraud and theft of this election is obvious to anyone honest enough to look.
Biden didn't campaign. He hid out in his basement because he knew the fix was in for him, no matter what.

President Trump stands in the way of the Globalist agenda and (T)hey HAD to get rid of him. They tried the Russian hoax, They tried impeachment, riots, looting, lawlessness and then They either introduced or took advantage of a virus, slightly more virulent and contagious than the flu, to make the mindless believe that they were in danger.

None of these things worked. President Trump was able to withstand the unceasing investigations, impeachment fraud and didn't fall for Their trap in re the riots and looting. President Trump just stuck to the Constitution and the law and left Them with no more ammo in Their pouch.

So, They arranged for a demented old man and a woman They could control to run against President Trump in this election, knowing that They would be using every possible method to cheat; would have the unwavering support of Their media and the support of Their social media as well.

If never mattered to Them who ran against President Trump. They expected us to vote him in with a record-breaking landslide. They weren't surprised at the vote count on November 3rd. They were ready.

All They had to do was wait until They could see the necessary states to steal. Then, They stopped the vote counting in those states and executed Their plan. With rigged machines, ballot harvesting, fake mail-in ballots and all the other ways They cheated, They made it look enough like Biden had won that Their media could hype it. Their mindless drones in our population, who believe whatever They report, could say that President Trump had been defeated. "See? Look at the votes!"

But, once again, President Trump didn't follow the normal line. He didn't just accept that They had finally gotten what They wanted. He continues to fight.

Will President Trump and the true citizens of the United States ultimately triumph? I'm not smart enough to know. It's possible but the powers against us are nearly unbeatable.

Super money...even more that Trump has. All of the mainstream and most of the follow along media. Social media. All the Democrats in any level of government. All those whose livelihood hinges on the continued gravy train of our corrupt government and all those people who either can't or won't think for themselves and make any effort to see the truth. Sadly, nearly half of our citizenry.

Who does President Trump have? A majority of the U.S. voters, likely a majority of those who don't vote but can still think for themselves and a small team of dedicated friends and supporters.

It's looking bad. They are able to control us like never before. They continue to hype the virus, getting us to wear masks, avoid our families and friends, stay at home and shop Their big stores online, slowly choking the local businesses that are the lifeblood of a free population.

If They can get Biden in as President, then They will have control of the world. The United States is the last bastion of true freedom in the world and we stand on the brink of losing it all. Once Biden is Their figurehead, They can either keep him or admit to his dementia and put Harris is his place. Either way, Their agenda will rapidly be implemented.

They won't have to conquer us with force of arms. Already, a large part of our population is under Their control. Just look around for The Mark.

The masks are The Mark, showing Them who is compliant and who is not. Soon, it will be the vaccine. "Show us your immunization papers" is how the Walmart door guard will be greeting us. Only the huge corporate stores will be left and if you aren't wearing your mask, have your "papers" or your RFID chip, you won't be allowed to shop.

You won't be hire-able either. You can't work at Walmart, Amazon, Costco or any other remaining job market without your continued compliance.

What will those of us who won't go along do? Barter? What will be our medium of exchange? Gold? U.S. Currency? Beer, tobacco, whiskey, food...toilet paper?

When I first began to formulate this post, I thought to myself: "This is too far-fetched. I'm just being weird". The more I wrote, the more often I read this over to myself, the more I realized that, not only am I right, but I'm probably under stating it.

I'm able to see what is going on and articulate it in writing. I'm not smart enough to see how we can counter it. At present, my only hope and prayer is that President Trump and his team are able to, once again, overcome the coup and defeat Them at Their game.

If not, I believe we are doomed as a free nation.

I Remember

I remember:

I remember throwing a rifle over my shoulder and taking off on my bicycle, riding through town on my way out to go camping, fishing, hunting or just hiking around outside of West Yellowstone.

If I needed anything, some lunch ingredients, matches, extra shells for whatever gun I was carrying or whatever, I could just stop in at the store and get it. 12 years old or so. No panic. No fear around me. No one called the cops or even commented about it as it was not remarkable.

I remember going camping near Belgrade, Montana with friends. Shooting gophers with our pistols, setting up camp next to the Gallatin River, just wherever we wanted and spending two or three days just fishing, swimming, hiking, shooting and camping. No trespass issues. No police called to check us out.

Going hunting before school hours and getting back, a little late, so hurried to class, still wearing my knife and extra ammo. Got in trouble for being late.

Hiking, camping, fishing, bicycling all over the West Yellowstone area with the rule that I had to be home by dinner. Sometimes miles from town, just a dog, a rifle and myself, exploring the outdoors as only a kid can.

In later years, after I had a pickup for my travels, I ranged even further for longer. If I was tired, I'd stop and sleep. If I wanted to make a meal, whether far out in the mountains or in a pullout next to the highway, I'd make a fire and cook. "No overnight camping" was not a sign we saw. Paying for a campsite? What?!

Leave my rifle in the rack in the back window of my pickup, parked at the school.

Ride a bicycle without a helmet. Ride in the back of a pickup.

No DUI roadblocks. No security check roadblocks. Cops wouldn't even think of asking to search my car!

load my guitar, soundgear and pool cues in the car and take off down the road, living by playing music and pool in crowded bars and pool halls.

Family gatherings, funerals, weddings and events without government dictated crowd size and event locations.

Rodeos, county fairs, local school sports, local school events, such as graduations, plays, concerts and so on.

Children going to school, having friends, parties and events together. Actually attending classes with personal contact. How's a kid supposed to get a crush on his teacher if she's just a computer screen?

National sports heroes we could respect. National sports weren't political events.

Hugs, handshakes and visiting our seniors in their nursing homes.

Want to put up a fence or garden on your own property? OK. How about parking your boat or trailer in front of your house? Sure. No problem.

What else are our children losing? What kind of country will they grow into? One where we don't see smiles anymore? Hard to recognize or hear our neighbors through their face diaper but if you don't wear yours, they will rat you out and you'll be in trouble for breathing free air?

I'm sad to see the things we've lost and reflect on the things we're likely to lose.

But, I'm sure we'll be much more secure and healthy in the New World Order and if you never had freedom, you won't miss it. I'm old now and will likely be gone soon so my memories are just that...old guy memories of times gone by. But...I Remember.

"Make It Yourself" Cooking Background.

This story really does have a point, if you bear with me.  I'm laying the groundwork for some articles on how to cook things for yourself.  I walk through the bakery aisles in grocery stores and see pies, cakes, doughnuts and cookies.  They all look good but I'm really not tempted to buy them.  Mass-produced pastries just aren't as good as the ones I make myself!  The same with dinner.  Why would I buy a pre-cooked and frozen lasagna when I can make one myself, at home, that will be better, in all ways, than the one from the store?  And, I don't even want to get into frozen waffles, pancakes and "breakfast sandwiches".  Yuck!

I started working in cafes, in West Yellowstone, when I was 10 years old.  I was hired as a dishwasher at the Silver Horseshoe Café.  I'd never done anything but deliver papers before that and had never washed dishes in a restaurant before and restaurants in West Yellowstone are incredibly busy in the summer time.  It's "slam! bang!" busy from the time the doors open until the place closes and there's no time for screwing around.

The cook tried to get me to understand how to get dishes done very quickly and I kind of caught on but...not.  I remember him bringing the stove top grates to me and telling me to get them "clean and shiny like new".  Well, they were iron grates with years of crust on them and I spent a huge amount of time trying to actually get all that off.  He came over and saw me still scrubbing the, at this point already clean, grates and took them back and put them back on the stove.

I didn't really learn the whole dishwasher job very well there as I didn't last long.  I mean, come on!  It was summer in West Yellowstone and I was ten years old!  There were fish to catch and camping and swimming to do so I kind of called in sick a lot.  In todays world, I don't think we can even hire kids that young.

As I got older, I learned to do not only the dishwasher job but everything there is to do in a restaurant, including waiting tables, cooking, being "host", bussing tables and washing dishes.  In most of the places I worked back then, the dishwasher was kind of the Prep Cook's assistant so I boiled, peeled, hashed, cut and mashed potatoes, made soups and chili, baked rolls and other things like that.  Dishwashers also were the cleaners of everything, bathrooms, floors, freezers and refrigerators...pretty much any greasy, dirty cleanup that needed done, the dishwasher was the go-to guy.

My Mom was one of the most sought after restaurant cooks in West Yellowstone back then and we wound up working places and shifts together so I learned how to work the grill from her as well as from other accomplished café cooks.  By the time I was 16 I was able to handle any job in the place and often did.  If someone didn't show up, I was the first one they'd call to fill in so I might be dishwasher one day, cook the next and waiting tables another time.

When I enlisted in the Air Force, as a policeman, I told myself I would NEVER work in a café again!  Never say never, folks.  It's too big a word.  I'm right back to being the "floater" again.  Now, I'm not doing it full time but it's not uncommon for my phone to ring and a waitress hollers "Help!" so I wander over to the Mint and fill in wherever they need me.  I've helped out at Parade Rest Ranch in West Yellowstone a few times over the years too.

My point here (Yes, I'm finally getting to it) is that I have a pretty extensive background in the restaurant business and in cooking.  So, a few years ago, I heard that one of our local outfitters needed a cook for his hunting camp.  I'd never done that kind of thing before but figured I could learn by doing.

I quickly learned that the style of cooking at a place like that is very different from cooking "on the line" in a café.  In a café, you are basically heating up and assembling meal components as quickly as possible.  Everything has been portioned out and you just cook it up and throw it together.  At hunting camp, I was making "family style" meals; one big meal for everybody.  How much do you make and how do you make that much all at once?  More like the Prep Cook in a restaurant than the grill cook.

I did figure it out, though, and found that it was a very rewarding and enjoyable style of cooking.  I got a lot more personal satisfaction out of making good, presentable and enjoyable meals for a group as opposed to a lot of meals, fast.  At hunting camp I made my own bread and rolls and provided breakfast, lunch and dinner with a variety of entrees, sides and deserts for as few as 3 people and as many as 14. Rifle season in Montana lasts until Thanksgiving so I actually prepared and served a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner, with all the fixins, for the first time in my life.  I kind of pretended I was an old-time chuckwagon cook and treated the job in that way.  It worked.

A year or so later, Parade Rest needed a dinner cook for the last month of the season and I filled in there; once again cooking family style, this time for as many as 60 people a couple of times (with lots of help).  I really enjoyed it and decided this was something I could do well and still have fun.

Last fall, I cooked for a roundup crew in Nevada for a month.  As few as three and as many as eight people for whom I provided breakfast and dinner every day for almost a month.  Once again, I made almost everything from scratch, including bread, dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, cookies and pies as well as breakfast and dinner entree's and sides.  It was enjoyable and satisfying and I feel like I might have finally found my nitch, after only over 50 years!

So, my plan here is to provide a few insights I've gained in 40+ years of food service, with an emphasis on doing for yourself what the grocery stores are trying to do for you.  Make your own doughnuts, cookies and pies.  Cinnamon rolls seemed really hard to me the first time I made some.  Pie crusts can be frustrating but you can make your own that will be as good or even better than one from the store and you have the satisfaction of having made it yourself.

Remember, I cooked my first traditional Thanksgiving dinner in a tent in the mountains of Montana.  You can certainly manage to make dinner in your kitchen at home!

Check back here once in a while for a continuation of this theme.  I'll give you an idea of the tools I like and the work-arounds and shortcuts I've learned over the years.  Maybe we can have some fun here together.

"Make It Yourself" tools

First, let's look at some of the things you need.  Most of these things can be found in second hand stores if you look for them.  Always be alert for cooking utensils when you are browsing the second hand stores.  

Get a pastry cutter.  I don't like the ones with heavy wire, much like a wire whisk.  I want the pastry cutter with rigid metal blades.

Wire whisk.  Several of these of different sizes.  I don't like the flat ones or the spiral ones.  Just plain wire whisks will do the best job.

Wooden spoons. At least one long handled one you can use for continuous stirring over a hot pot. By this I mean, have a couple of 10” wooden spoons for normal mixing but find one with a longer handle for the times you are standing over the pot, stirring continuously while the steam billows up and cooks YOU. A long handled spoon is really nice at this point in your life.

 

Spatulas:  I, first, want a thin metal one that will easily slide under my eggs or pancakes.  But, I also want a rigid plastic one that I will be using for things like browning meats or scrambling eggs.

Scrapers: be picky.  Get scrapers with flexible soft rubber blades and blades that are well secured to the handle.  It's a pain when the head comes off of one of these things while you are scraping batter out of a bowl.

 

Mixing bowls: Several different sizes. Glass, plastic or stainless steel; whatever you like best. I kind of like glass or plastic as they can also be used in a microwave and I want a more curved bowl with as little flat bottom inside as I can get. One with a flat platform outside but completely rounded inside is great.   

Rolling pin:  I'm traditional here. Wood.  Use what you like but I can tell you, you'll be much happier with an actual rolling pin than trying to make pie crusts by rolling it out with a big bottle and a wooden rolling pin just seems to work better for me than plastic, porcelain or stone! 

Flour sifter.  I like the kind with the squeeze handle, not the hand crank. 

Knife:  Once again, a very personal choice.  I have a Dexter sandwich knife that is almost always in my hand.  The shape is just what I want, the blade stays sharp and I use it for almost anything a knife can be used for.  A really good chef with whom I worked had a set of knives that he kept incredibly sharp.  I've seen him use his big knife to slice through a piece of typing paper that was just hanging from the ticket rack...slicing UP through the paper!  Try it.  Also, a bread slicer so you can more easily make uniform slices of the fresh bread you just baked.  I use what they call a “fiddle bow” bread slicer which has a serrated blade, some space and a wooden back so if you cut with the blade into the bread and the wooden back holding the slice in place, each slice is about the same thickness.

 Mixers, electric, hand and stand up.  Kitchenaide standing mixers are the gold standard but I also like my Sunbeam.  Electric hand mixers seem more useful to me for smaller dishes or making stuff for one or two people.  An old fashioned hand cranking mixer is nice to have.  If the power goes out or some other problem exists, being able to crank on your hand mixer and make your whipped cream or cake mix with that can make you the hero! 

Baking pans: 9x13 and 9x9 cake pans .  I like glass the best but regular non-stick or metal cake pans are good. What they call "jelly roll pans" which are basically sheets with a small edge around them.  Multiple sizes.  I also use small pizza pans as cookie sheets or to catch boil-overs in the oven.  If you will be cooking for larger groups then getting larger sizes of these is important. 

Casserole dishes of various sizes are good to have.  Once again, think about how big your groups might be.  You might want pretty good sized dishes. 

Covered roasting pan, preferably with an internal rack.

Sauce pans of various sizes.  You'll be using these for gravies, breakfast cereals and so on. 

Stock pots in various sizes, I have one, two and three gallon ones.

Cooling racks; square, rectangular and round.

If you’ve got all this stuff in your kitchen, you can do almost anything, from baking your own bread to putting together your traditional turkey dinner. 

Like I’ve said, stocking your kitchen with a trip to the second hand store can save a bunch of money and often get you some really nice stuff.  A lot of what I use would be considered antiques but I often find the older stuff is the best.

 

Now we come to one of my real passions in the cooking world...Cast Iron.  I have skillets, pots, dutch ovens, fryers, griddles...I love 'em.  I have a skillet that is only about 4" in diameter that is just the right size for frying one or two eggs.  I have another skillet that is 15" in diameter that I use for groups.  I can scramble more than a dozen eggs and cook them all at once in this skillet.  I can brown 5lbs of hamburger in it.  Make several small pancakes all at once.  It's great but I pretty much just store it unless I'm doing something like a hunting camp or roundup crew where I'll need to cook large amounts all at once.

And, yes, those of us who are seriously into cast iron cooking are fanatic about caring for it.  NO SOAP!  If I have to scrub it, I put salt in it and use the salt as an abrasive.  Actually, this article at http://www.seriouseats.com/2014/11/the-truth-about-cast-iron.html argues with me a little about the soap issue but it's a really good article and explains a lot about why and how to use cast iron.

 

This article also touches on the fact that older cast iron looks a little different than newer.  Either is good but I am always alert at second hand stores, yard sales and antique stores for older cast iron pans and I've taken some time to research them a little so I have an idea of the value of a pan when I find one.

 

Here's a picture of the difference between pre-1950 and more recently made cast iron.  The pan on the right is older and was made back when they still polished them as part of the manufacture process.  If you find one with this satiny sheen, it's worth grabbing!

 

Ok.  If you have the tools I've talked about here you have the makings of a pretty efficient kitchen.  Are there other things?  Of course.  Meat thermometers and candy thermometers.  I once had a thermometer that would show me the surface temp of my pans.  Another cook where I was working broke it.  That's what I get for not taking it home each night.
 
Anyway, this stuff is a good start.  As we move along here, I'll likely think of other things you should have but, for now, get out to the second hand stores, antique shops and yard sales and get equipped!

 



Trump/Biden or Biden/Trump: Bring America Together Again!

 

As we sit here today, 11-7-2020, all the media has "called" the Presidential election for Joe Biden after four days of frantic fraud effort in several states.   A quote here from my friend Kirby Jonas, who very succinctly says what I am thinking:

"I have never seen a bigger farce than this election, and I have to say I am ashamed of and embarrassed for any person who is fool enough to believe the results of the election were real. NO ONE who has truly followed real news for the past four months would believe that two people like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris could have taken this election away from a man with Trump's popularity.

I'm tired of pussy-footing around and trying to appease people. I would be sick and ashamed to be part of a party that would cheat to get a candidate into office. And I'm sick to my stomach to be part of a party that allows the so-called "election results" to stand.

It sickens me knowing that the Democrats can rest easy because they know for a fact Conservatives won't riot and do the same kind of violent crap they do when they don't get their way. Who are we going to attack, after all? The only solution would be for us to rise up and go right to the source--Washington and state capitols. And you know our party won't take up arms and do that. The Dems in power knew it too. They knew their coup would be safe, and now if they can somehow get our guns away before we are all starving to death and in slavery they will have it made.

Although the lying media has called this election for Biden/Harris, there is, as Kirby states, a long way to go yet.  This article from NBC News can help understand where we are headed.

This brings up an interesting scenario.

Let's say that President Trump's lawsuits and recounts over the next month or so casts real doubt on the true winner but with no clear win for President Trump either...hmmm. 

The House votes, each state getting a single vote, not each member of the House, so the Dem majority there is not as big an issue.

So, the House vote reelects President Trump and then the Senate has to vote for the Vice President.  I've read, but I'm not certain, that the Vice President in this instance has to be the runner up in the election.  So, we'd have a Trump/Biden Presidency.  This might be a very good thing; maybe bringing our country back together a little more.

What if the House votes Biden into the Presidency?  Well, since the sitting Senate is still a Republican majority, I think we could count on a Vice President Trump and, considering Bidens mental and physical capabilities, back to President Trump in a very short while!

I'd call this a win/win situation, wouldn't you?

What do They have in store for us?

Listen to and follow the science, right?  Follow the CDC and do as we're told.

Ok.  Let's look at that.  According to a report done by the CDC, based on studies in July, 2020 of 154 positive cases of Covid19...70% of those testing positive claimed to "always" wear a mask.  Presumably, they also follow all the fear advice and "social distance" and all that crap.  70%.  Only 6% of the positive cases said they "never" wear a mask.  I'm guessing those 6% also just live their lives, hugging, going out to restaurants and bars, talking with people and just being normal.

In the world of common sense, this would tell me that wearing masks has no bearing on whether you will catch this stupid virus.

Next, the lockdowns.  We have already seen that the lockdowns caused massive economic destruction as well as personal issues such as depression and violence.  Not to mention the damage done to our children with this enforced separation from their friends.  Then, the incredibly unjust and cruel separation of people from their families in times of great stress, when in any medical or nursing facility!  

Are the lockdowns effective and worth the collateral damage?  Well, according to the World Health Organization...no.

Is this virus as contagious, virulent and deadly as we are led to believe?  Well, let's just look at Sturgis, shall we?  

A post online claims that only .02% of Sturgis rally attendees came down with Covid19.  USA today went to great lengths to debunk this and carefully researched it.  Here is their conclusion:

We rate the claim that the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally led to 88 positive tests attributed to the rally, which is a 0.02% infection rate among attendees, as FALSE because it was not supported by our research. So, an open rally, with over 460,000 attendees, resulted in 414 cases of Covid19 and one death.  A Covid19 contagion rate of .09%.  That's the best USA Today can do?  They WANT us to be terrified of Covid19 but even THEY have to admit that there was a negligible case spread from such a massive event.

President Trump tested positive and was in and out of the hospital in four days and worked the whole time.  Our First Lady has complained of a cough and a headache and she's just remained at the White House, without being hospitalized.

According to the CDC info, the majority of deaths attributable to Covid19 are in the ages from 60 up.  and, 94% of deaths overall are of people with other contributing factors...co-morbidities they call them.  Only 6% of deaths blamed on covid19 are actually FROM Covid19.

97.3% of all the Americans who have actually caught this disease have recovered.  Look at the numbers.  7,856,605 Americans have had this virus so far and 7,640,718  have recovered.

So, why are our health officials, Governor and media completely disregarding all this information?  It's out there for all of us to see but "T"hey are not reporting any of it.  In fact, They are acting as if these facts...Their OWN facts!...just don't exist.

They are talking about another lockdown, even though we KNOW that won't work and is actually bad for us.  They are enforcing illegal and unconstitutional Mask Mandates, even though They know, because of Their own studies, that masks have little or no positive effect against the virus and might even have negative health effects for the sheeple who are wearing them.

I'd have never made a good con man as I just can't see the scams.  I can't understand how this continued deliberate ignorance of Their own facts benefits Them at all.  Is it just the evidence of Their power over the majority?  Is there a financial gain for the most powerful of Them?  Do They just like to see what we, the mice, will do in the maze?

Or, is there a much larger plan which involves identifying people, like myself, who are able to see through the bullshit and just not comply?  They are trying very hard to make it difficult for us to buy or sell without our face diaper.  They are limiting our Church attendance and even our ability to congregate together for anything.  Keeping us isolated from each other except for these social media platforms which They control and monitor.

They know who Their resisters are.  Those who won't wear the face diaper.  Those who make posts like this one on any computer media.  Those of us who can read and think for ourselves MUST be weeded out!

Open Carry...or not?

This is definitely an opinion piece today and I've thought a lot about how to say it.

I'm certainly a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment.  The idea of open carry is laudable and I'm glad to see states and cities allowing open carry.  That said, I have some observations.

First, "war story time".  And also, I'm aware that my opinions are colored by the fact that I'm an "old guy" and not as well informed about the equipment of today as I probably should be.

During my time in Law Enforcement, I was often in critical situations where the threat of deadly violence was imminent.  More than once, my partner or backup got out the shotgun in case things went really bad.  When that cloud of tension is in the air and lead could fly at any moment, the thought that one of us was armed with a more devastating weapon than a handgun was comforting.  But, when the situation de-escalates into a fistfight:  when I am rolling around in the mud with some drugged out scumball, trying desperately to get the cuffs on him...my partner with the shotgun was useless.  It's a clumsy club and you can't just lay it down or put it back in your holster.  Run back to the car, secure the shotgun and then run back to help me on the ground.  By then, I'm done, one way or the other.

The same thing can apply to an open carry situation.  Let's do a hypothetical here.  Let's say a couple of friends and I are helping our community in one of these riots by standing between looters and community businesses.  My friend is open carrying his AR.  I am armed with nothing more than bear spray or maybe my old PR24 and unarmed Antifa scum presses forward, forcing me into hand to hand fighting.  What good is my backup guy?  I've got three or four unarmed black-clad guys trying to punch and kick me and I'm trying to fight back.  Deadly force may be justified but also maybe not.  Fine line/grey area.  Does my partner use that AR against some unarmed "peaceful protesters"?  Ever hear of  George Zimmerman?

If he was carrying a concealed handgun, in a secured holster, then he could jump in and help me.  He'd still have to be aware of any attempt to take his weapon but it's much less likely than if he had to wrestle with some guys over that long gun.

That brings up holsters.  If you must open carry, maybe it would be smarter to use a more secure holster.  One of those open top, friction retention holsters looks pretty neat and is great in a competition on the range but may not be the best choice for just carrying.  Something that covers more of the weapon and has some security retention is possibly a better choice?

Long ago, at Lowry Air Force Base, I backed up another patrol on a traffic stop.  Just as I arrived, the situation "went south" and we were in a fight...Rick with the driver and me with the passenger.  Neither

of us had time to radio for help so it was just us and them.  Actually, I wound up unable to call for help because I'd broken my radio on my suspects head.  Got 'im cuffed though and ran around the car to help Rick.  I found a civilian holding Rick's weapon while Rick finished up handcuffing the original suspect.  You can imagine the tension there for a moment as I confronted the guy with Rick's gun.  But (the point of the story) it turned out that his holster had come undone and the weapon went clattering along the street!  This guy had stopped to see if he could help and Rick had asked him to find the weapon and get it out of harms way.  Holster quality was a big part of the issue.

I carried a handgun everywhere I went for many years.  I remember only once in my career that I took it out of the holster when I was off-duty.  There were several situations in that time period where I had hold of it and was prepared to draw but never did.  Thanks to God, I never had to fire my weapon, either on or off duty.

I did, however, have to fight many times over the years.  From as mild as a quick wristlock-to-handcuff scuffle to a biting, punching, rolling in the mud life and death fight.  Handcuffs, pepper spray and my PR24 all got  their share of use. 

When the lead is in the air, I want an AR or a shotgun.  If the situation could go either way and the need for a firearm hasn't arisen,  I want my hands free and any weapon I might have to be secure.  

In conclusion, I am not a big fan of open carry, even of a handgun.  Keeping it out of sight and out of mind until it's needed is the way I would want to do it.  Those who disagree, for whatever reason; well, that's what freedom is all about.  You do your thing and I'll do mine.  But, if you are carrying openly, be aware that your potential opponents are as conscious of your weapon as you and some of them would like to take it from you.

Kids Today

I've been having a back and forth with a Democrat friend of mine. Both of us spouting the same arguments to the same result...nothing. Actually, I enjoy my debates with die hard Dems. I have no illusion that I'll change them but I'm hoping that others, who really don't have a strong feeling either way, are reading our posts and might actually learn the truth. Anyway, something he said strongly affected me. He is absolutely right in a way. He says that we old white guys aren't the voting majority anymore. He's right on there but I'll take it a step further. Those of us who actually remember a common sense, fair and Free America are getting old. An America with two genders, cleaner and nicer entertainment and real men and LADIES we could look up to. An America where it wasn't shocking that your family had guns and hunted. An America where hard work and ambition were rewarded while sloth and indifference were not. An America where I could spend my day in the mountains, on a bicycle, with no instant communication and no real fear for my well being. I swore I'd never sound like my mother but..."These kids today"...

Today's voting age "children" are of the participation trophy era. The era of 20+ year olds still living with Mommy. Often no clear genders. Certainly no common sense. A time where a large part of the voting age children couldn't qualify for military service if they wanted to! No wonder the idea of giving up freedoms for government handouts gains such support. These kids are living in a world where handouts are just expected. I see it at work every day. Most of these kids are there to get a paycheck. The concept of actually doing the work to EARN a paycheck is completely mystifying. They do as little as possible, just putting in the hours so they can get a check once in a while. They're just warm bodies. Names on the schedule. What's worse is they are at the pinnacle of their life's achievments already. No wonder they want a higher minimum wage. They don't expect, plan or aspire to do anything more than minimum wage jobs. Participation trophies again.

Back to sounding like my mother..."in my day"... Yeah. When I was 19 I was making life and death decisions in a foreign country. I've known kids who are in their 20's and still don't even have a drivers license. Kids with no real ambition or goals. These are the kids who vote for Bernie Sanders. Who think America is a terrible place because we still have a "Capitalist System" as opposed to a "gimmee free stuff" system. We've been sliding downhill for quite a while and if we don't stop the descent pretty soon, we'll be a nation of pajama boys, being led by the TV and the internet to do whatever our Masters tell us.
